CPME was involved in bringing the topic of patient safety to the EU agenda through a 2005 conference where the Luxembourg Declaration on Patient Safety was adopted. CPME has since been involved in a series of projects on the topic; SImPatIE (2005-2007), EUNetPaS (2008-2010), and PaSQ (2012-2016), as well as in the European Commission working group on Patient Safety and Quality of Care.
