Mental Health & Wellbeing

CPME Rapporteurs: Dr Jacques DE HALLER (CH) & Dr Péter ÁLMOS (HU)
CPME Secretariat: Mr Markus KUJAWA

The immense burden of disease created by mental illness, and depression in particular, is a continuous focus of CPME action. We have focused on the specific implications of mental health in various thematic contexts, including workplace settings, in relation to the medical profession itself, and most lately, in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The need to eradicate stigmatisation of mental illness is a priority in all policies. CPME also highlights the need to mainstream mental health in all policy action relating to health, including employment and social policies, and to increase awareness for co-morbidity of mental and physical illness.
