CPME Rapporteur: Dr Martin BALZAN (MT)
CPME Secretariat: Mr Markus KUJAWA
CPME action on environmental health addresses the health impact of factors such as air, noise or water pollution to work towards a containment and roll-back of damage to the environment. We also contribute to the debate on climate change, in particular on global warming and the loss of biodiversity, to highlight the implications for health e.g. due to extreme climate conditions, the proliferation of vector-borne diseases or the scarcity of drinkable water.
CPME underlines the co-benefits to health resulting from action in other policy areas, such as transport or energy policy.
