CPME participated in the second Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety in Bonn on 29-30 March 2017. The summit was attended by a number of health ministers, other representatives of ministries of health, WHO, the World Bank and numerous patient safety experts.

The first day of the summit was dedicated to the experts addressing current challenges patient safety is facing. It included six workshops which covered a spectrum of topics including the economy and efficiency of patient safety as well as global exchange. The discussions were presented to the health ministers in the end of the day. The actual  ministerial meeting took place on the second day of the summit.  The ministers supported the shared initiative to draft a World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution aiming at establishing the 17 September as a Global Day of Patient Safety.

The next summit will be hosted by Japan in 2018. Please find the presentations of the event here.
