On the basis of the published literature in the last 15 years from all over the world, the GENCAD project assembled the existing knowledge on gender differences in coronary artery disease (CAD). It covers the areas of prevention and health promotion, epidemiology, disease mechanisms, clinical symptoms and diagnosis, management, as well as outcomes of CAD.

The most important differences are gathered in two factsheets developed specifically for health professionals and the general public.
