CPME is pleased to be a partner of the ‘Healthy Workplaces’ campaign 2018-2019 ‘Manage Dangerous Substances’ hosted by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).

In the scope of the campaign, CPME looks forward to contributing towards the objectives of the campaign by promoting its messages to the CPME membership, European medical doctors across all specialties represented through their National Medical Associations. To this end, information will be disseminated at a meeting of the CPME Board. CPME will also raise awareness of the risks posed by dangerous substances in the workplace and to promote a culture of risk prevention to eliminate and, where that is not possible, effectively manage these risks.

CPME President Dr Jacques de Haller highlights that “CPME has a long-standing interest in occupational health, and it has participated in the Healthy Workplaces campaigns since 2011. CPME believes that occupational health and safety are key elements of a sustainable workplace environment and work-life balance, and therefore essential to support economic and personal well-being. Healthy workplaces are also part of the socio-economic determinants of health, and one of CPME’s objectives is to fight against health inequalities. In the 2018-19 campaign, doctors have a significant role in raising awareness of the risks posed by dangerous substances in the workplace and in promoting a culture of risk prevention“.
